There are two ways to connect a Three point tire swing to a tree limb.
Text Book Version:
If you have a limb about 6-8 " thick...drill a hole in limb. Insert the eyebolt. This becomes anchor point for the swivel. Connect with chain-link to swivel hook and chain connection.
If you don't have the perfect Limb: (most people don't). Wrap a single strand of chain around the tree limb, Make sure you have wrapped the limb with a protective cover, such as a old rubber hose, a piece of carpet, or some other material that will afford some sort of protection, otherwise the chain may dig into limb. The chain becomes the anchor point for the swivel hook. Connect to swivel hook with a chain-link that I supply.
Our system is set up to fit a play set with a support beam 7 feet from the ground. You may need extra chain to attach to your tree limb. For example, if the limb is 12 feet from the ground, you may need 8 extra feet of strong single strand Heavy duty chain. (3 feet to wrap around the limb and 5 feet to make up the distance (7 feet (system) + 5 feet = 12 feet) As a courtesy, I can supply the extra chain at my cost, at $1.50 a foot, the same as Home-Depot or Lowe's and we even throw in a bolt, 2 large washers, an a lock nut to secure the swing to the tree limb and a rubber hose to protect the branch. If you have extra chain at home, you can use that also. Just make sure it has a load limit greater than 800 lbs.
If you need extra chain, please measure from the ground to the bottom of the tree limb, so we can cut the correct length of chain for you. This way all you will have to do is climb a ladder and bolt the chain together and you're swinging. If the tree limb is very high and you cannot reach it with a ladder, we can send you instructions, which will allow you to secure the heavy duty chain to a tree limb from the ground.
